A Web cache (or HTTP cache) is an information technology for the temporary storage (caching) of Web documents, such as Web pages, images, and other types of Web multimedia, to reduce server lag.  A Web cache system can refer either to an appliance or to a computer program.   The browser cache is a slice of hard drive space that's set aside to gather commonly used items accessed through a web browser. These frequency accessed files are stored so that the next time you need that data, the browser can open the files from the hard drive instead of downloading them from the internet.       How do I clean out my cache? In the Chrome app On your Android phone or tablet, open the Chrome app . At the top right, tap More . Tap History. Clear browsing data. At the top, choose a time range.
