WHAT IS AN i PHONE

The iPhone is a line of smartphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc. that use Apple's iOS mobile operating system. The first-generation iPhone was announced by former Apple CEO Steve Jobs on January 9, 2007. Since then Apple has annually released new iPhone models and iOS updates.

What's the difference between an iPhone and a Smartphone? An iPhone is a mobile phone model from the brand Apple.  A smartphone is a generic name given to all the mobile phones that are considered intelligent and have a touchscreen (the iPhone is one of these models, among many others).

The iPhone is a smartphone made by Apple that combines a computer, iPod, digital camera

and cellular phone into one device with a touchscreen interface. The iPhone runs the iOS operating system (OS), and as of 2017, there were 2.2 million apps available for it through the Apple App Store, according to Statista.

The iPhone ensures all apps and functions are performing the way Apple intended them to perform, which allows for a very simple user experience. Often, users consider this to be one of the iPhones best features.

Why is it called iPhone?
“Steve Jobs said the 'I' stands for 'internet, individual, instruct, inform, [and] inspire,'” Paul Bischoff, a privacy advocate at Comparitech, explains

  • Why is iPhone so expensive?

One of the major cause for iPhones are too expensive that Apple has its own customized hardware and software. Moving to apps and app store, iPhone is the first platform where most of the developers launched their apps before anywhere else and this, in turn, contributes to the high price of iPhones.

Apple has become the go-to brand of not only the creative type, but also the sporty, the business oriented and so on. And when someone famous is seen using an iPhone, that's not just free advertising for Apple, it's also a point of connection between the popular person and its fans

One of the iPhone's best features is its seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem. While it's often called a “walled garden”, because of how strictly Apple controls it, the tightly controlled ecosystem also allows for better software optimization and ease of use.

The iPhones are generally more well built and have better hardware-software integration than Android smartphones, and also people tend to still like them more. That is why an iPhone does not lose as much of its initial value after one or two years of use, than any Android smartphone you could name.

When it comes to a fluid user experience over a long span of time, this gives the iPhone a significant advantage over Androids in terms of longevity. Obviously planned obsolescence is part of Apple's design after about 4 years, and an iPhone will start to experience performance issues at around the 3 year mark.

  • Disadvantages of iPhone
  • Apple Ecosystem. The Apple Ecosystem is both a boon and a curse.
  • Overpriced. While the products are very beautiful and sleek, prices for apple products are way too high.
  • Less Storage. iPhones do not come with SD card slots so the idea of upgrading your storage after buying your phone is not an option.
