RHEUMATISM ,is not an age related problem .Even young people suffer from this disease .The symptom become noticeable only when the disease is at a very advanced stage.In its chronic form , it adversely affects the entire musculoskeletal system , including the joints which gradually become swollen and painful. Rheumatism is basically an autoimmune disease.In an autoimmune disease ,the defense system of the body erroneously considers the body's own tissues as foreign matter and fights against it .Rheumatism can be controlled by medicines but can not be cured completely.
