NATIONAL PARKS AND ZOOS

WE CAN  SEE  LOT    OF  ANIMAL  SPECIES    IN  THE   ZOOS.We  can  also   know  about   their   natural  habitats   from the  information  displayed on  the  boards  attached  to  their  enclosures .
Today  most  of  the  Zoos   are  making  special   efforts   to   conserve     and  breed   rare  species.Specialist  supervise   the  breeding  program mes  so  that   there  is  no  risk  to   the  animals'
health
NATIONAL    PARKS   also  contribute   to  the  preservation  of  species .Areas   that  are   especially   worthy   of  protection   are  designated       as  UNESCO  World  Heritage   Sites.
Zoo  plays     an  important   role    in   the  protection  of  near   extinct     and  endangered   species.   by  conducting   breeeding  programs    Animals   belonging  to  the  endangered   species  are   kept  in most  of  the   modern  Zoos.A   program   'return  to  the  wild '  compaign  ,  these  animals  are  cared  for ,put   through   breeding  program mes ,  and  finally  released into  their  natural  habitat.Conservation   of  species    is   important  not  only   because   it  restores  the  Earth's  biodiversity ,  but  also  because   diversity   is   crucial    for  the  healthy  evolution   of  life on  the   Earth
NATIONAL  PARKS-    The  emergence     of   a    general   concern   to  protect    the  wonders   of  the   nature    gave   rise  to  National  parks   around  the  world.The  first  protected   areas   were   set  up   The    Yellow  Stone   National  park ,the  world's  first  protected    area  was   established  in  1872     in  the  middle  of  the  Rocky  Mountains.Here    an  attempt  was made   to  retain  the  unique  landscape   along  with   with  the  diverse flora  and  fauna .The   idea  was  soon  adopted  by   other  countries  as  well.
Canada, Australia,  and   New Zealand    converted   extraordinary
habitats   into   national   parks  or  wildlife  sanctuaries.Today  there  are  around   2200   national  parks  in   various  countries
