HEALTH BENEFITS OF CHEESE

Cheese is produced throughout the world; it is an ancient food with origins that predate recorded history. It is a dairy food made from pressed milk curds. Different varieties are made from unripened (fresh) cheese or ripened (aged) cheese.
Cheese is a delicious and nutritious food that is very versatile. You can add it to other dishes or eat it by itself. It’s convenient and portable. There are more than 300 varieties of cheese—including American, Cheddar, Mozzarella and Colby—many of which are available in various flavors, forms (chunks, slices, cubes, shredded, grated, crumbled, sticks, spreads) and packages to meet consumers' needs.

Cheese is a great source of calcium, fat, and protein. It also contains high amounts of vitamins A and B-12, along with zinc, phosphorus, and riboflavin.
Cheese made from the milk of 100 percent grass-fed animals is the highest in nutrients and also contains omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin K-2.
According to several studies, cheese — and dairy products in general — could work to protect your teeth from cavities. In a Danish study from 2015, more children with an above-average dairy intake were cavity-free after three years than those with a below-average intake.

The high-quality protein in cheese provides the body with essential building blocks for strong muscles.

Eating 1 3/4 ounces of cheese a day may lower your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 8 percent, says an analysis of cohort studies in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. There's more good news from the same study—people who ate about 3/4 cup of yogurt daily had even lower risk. Another study in AJCN, this one out of Sweden, found that women who ate just under 2 ounces of cheese also lowered their type 2 diabetes risk. The shorter-chain saturated fats in cheese were linked to lower risk of type 2 diabetes. Also, calcium—which increases insulin secretion and may reduce insulin resistance—may fend off the disease, say researchers. Whey proteins might play a role, too, as they may increase insulin sensitivity.

  • Makes You Stronger

Eating almost a cup of ricotta cheese a day for 12 weeks boosted muscle mass and improved balance in healthy adults over 60. The researchers of the study—published in 2014 in Clinical Interventions in Aging—said that the milk proteins casein and whey may have fueled the improvement.

 Risk  Factors  Of  Cheese.

  • Some people are sensitive to cheese. Cheese contains lactose, a sugar that can’t be digested by lactose intolerant people because their bodies lack the enzyme that breaks it down. In these cases, too much lactose can lead to digestive problems including gas and bloating.
Fortunately, some cheeses are very low in lactose, such as Parmesan. People with lactose intolerance may be able to tolerate these.
  • People can also be allergic to casein, one of the main proteins found in milk, in which case a low-lactose cheese wouldn’t help.
  • Cheese is also a calorie-dense food. Depending on the variety of cheese you eat, you’re getting about 100 calories per ounce.
  •  Cheese  is  also usually loaded with sodium, which makes it easy to overeat and can be an issue for people with high blood pressure.
  • Cheese is also high in fat, and some experts, though not all, still advise limiting your intake of saturated fat.
  • Lastly  cheese contains no fiber, and excessive intake of pasteurized dairy may cause constipation.
Still  Cheese   is  good   for  health  minus these  limitations.
