BREATHING
takes air in and out of our lungs, and that air contain
the gas oxygen.Every one of our trillions of body cells
needs a constant supply of oxygen ,24 hours a day, and
oxygen is something our body cannot store- so, it can not
break.Breathing also removes carbon dioxide from the body-the
waste gas that our cells are releasing all the time.
CELL RESPIRATION.-Inside every body cell are small ,sausage -shaped structure called mitochondria. These mitochondria use oxygen to release energy from fuels, such as glucose that we get from food. The released energy is used to power the cell activities that keep us alive and healthy .This energy release process, cell respiration, produces waste carbon dioxide.
THE NOSE- Nose is an important part which helps breathing process. It is here ,the air enters into the breathing system besides this function as a gate way of air,it helps to freshen the air.

- Nostril hairs works like a net to catch pollen, insect bits, and skin flakes.
- Sticky mucus lining the nasal cavity traps bacteria, viruses and dust particles.
- Hair like cilia in the nasal lining move from side to side waft germ - laden mucus to the throat , where it is swallowed and treated to an acid bath in the stomach.
- Blood vessels lining the nasal cavity act like radiators to warm the air- especially useful on cold day.
- CONTINUE-
- The Nasal lining loses water vapor to make even the driest air moist.
- BREATHING MOVEMENTS-
- COUGHING- To clear mucus and other matter from the upper airways, air from the lungs build up behind the closed vocal cords and is forced out through the mouth.
- SNEEZING- This movement is the same as for a cough , but air is forced out through the nasal cavity(instead of mouth) to
- clear mucus and or relieve an irritation.
- HICCUPING- An irritation to the diaphragm due to eating too quickly makes it contract suddenly ,causing air to rush into the lungs and the vocal cords to slap shut noisily
- YAWNING- A deep breath taken into the lungs when you are tired, probably to "flush' out excess carbon dioxide from
- the blood .
