DREAM S

A dream is a succession of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that usually occur involuntarily in the mind during certain stages of sleep. During a typical lifespan, a person spends a total of about six years dreaming. Most dreams last only 5 to 20 minutes.

Dreams are basically stories and images that our mind creates while we sleep. They can be vivid. They can make you feel happy, sad, or scared. .Dreams can happen at any time during sleep. But you have your most vivid dreams during a phase called REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, when your brain is most active.

Theories about why we dream include those that suggest dreaming is a means by which the brain processes emotions, stimuli, memories, and information that's been absorbed throughout the waking day.

  • Where do dreams come from?
“Activation-synthesis hypothesis suggests dreams are caused by brainstem activation during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep and stimulation of the limbic system (emotional motor system).

The length of a dream can vary; they may last for a few seconds, or approximately 20–30 minutes. People are more likely to remember the dream if they are awakened during the REM phase.

We  forgot  almost all dreams soon after waking up. Our forgetfulness is generally attributed to neurochemical conditions in the brain that occur during REM sleep, a phase of sleep characterized by rapid eye movements and dreaming. The dreaming/reverie end involves some of the most creative and “far out” materia.

  • 3Main Types of Dreams | Psychology
  • Type # 1. Dreaming is Passive Imagination:
  • Type # 2. Dream Illusions:
  • Type # 3. Dream-Hallucinations.

Dreaming is a normal part of healthy sleep. Good sleep has been connected to better cognitive function and emotional health, and studies have also linked dreams to effective thinking, memory, and emotional processing.

Dreams are a way of your subconscious mind to communicate with your conscious mind. Therefore, when things, in reality, do not go as planned, your subconscious mind tries to play them the way you would have wanted them to go, in your dreams.

  • Can blind people dream?

A dreaming blind person experiences more sensations of sound, touch, taste, and smell than sighted people do. Blind people are also more likely to have certain types of dreams than sighted people. For example, blind people seem to experience more dreams about movement or travel7 and more nightmares.

  • Are dreams true?
Contrary to the rationalist hooey that dreams aren't real (“You're just dreaming”), dreams are very much real. They convey real information, real impact, real emotions, and have real consequences if ignored.
DREAMS.
