Artificial Intelligence AI

Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Artificial Intelligence has made a lot of hype over the last decade. Still, it remains one of the leading emerging technology developments because its significant impacts on how we live, work, and play are still in their inception.

Artificial intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. Specific applications of AI include expert systems, natural language processing, speech recognition and machine vision.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the branch of computer sciences that emphasizes the development of intelligence machines, thinking and working like humans. For example, speech recognition, problem-solving, learning and planning.

AI can be described as an area of computer science that simulates human intelligence in machines. It's about smart algorithms making decisions based on the available data.

  • 3 Types of Artificial Intelligence
  • Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI)
  • Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)
  • Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI)

Artificial intelligence is widely used to provide personalised recommendations to people, based for example on their previous searches and purchases or other online behaviour. AI is hugely important in commerce: optimising products, planning inventory, logistics etc.

Google AI is a division of Google dedicated to artificial intelligence.

AI technology is important because it enables human capabilities – understanding, reasoning, planning, communication and perception – to be undertaken by software increasingly effectively, efficiently and at low cost. Use cases are proliferating as AI's potential is understood.

  • Main  goals of AI?
The basic objective of AI (also called heuristic programming, machine intelligence, or the simulation of cognitive behavior) is to enable computers to perform such intellectual tasks as decision making, problem solving, perception, understanding human communication (in any language, and translate among them),

AI works by combining large amounts of data with fast, iterative processing and intelligent algorithms, allowing the software to learn automatically from patterns or features in the data. The process requires multiple passes at the data to find connections and derive meaning from undefined data.
AI offers advantages of new and innovative services, and the potential to improve scale, speed and accuracy.  For example, AI is being used to spot patterns in health vulnerabilities and insurance risks, among many other applications

John McCarthy, the father of AI, were to coin a new phrase for "artificial intelligence" today, he would probably use "computational intelligence." McCarthy is not just the father of AI, he is also the inventor of the Lisp (list processing) language.
