WHAT IS PODCAST

Podcasting is a free service that allows Internet users to pull audio files (typically MP3s) from a podcasting Web site to listen to on their computers or personal digital audio players. The term comes from a combination of the words iPod (a personal digital audio player made by Apple) and broadcasting.

A podcast is a fully contextual and downloadable audio file that anyone can listen to at any time - either via a podcast app, website or smart-speaker. But a podcast is so much more than a file format. ... A podcast is an on-demand audio content series - you can listen to it when you want, where you want, and how you want.

The definition of a podcast is a multi-media digital file distributed over the Internet to be watched and listened to on a computer, iPod or other device. A radio program distributed exclusively over the Internet and listened to on people's iPods is an example of a podcast.

 How do podcasters get paid?

Advertising and sponsorships are probably the first things you think of when looking for ways to make money from podcasting. There are several different podcast ad networks that can connect you with advertisers. They do all the work of finding advertisers, negotiating rates, getting the script, and more.

With more time being spent at home and the television (or laptop screen) becoming less of a treat and more of a distraction, the popularity of podcasts is increasing. Consumers (listeners in the case of podcasts) are looking for more connection and choice.
