NERVOUS SYSTEM - HUMAN BODY




THE   NERVOUS   SYSTEM  consists   of  ;nerves   that   messages    from    our  senses    to  the  brain  .It   is   the   communication   and  control   network   of  the   human     body.Nerves   are  made  up  of  long  thin   cells  .called   neurons.Nerves   carry    information   from  the  skin,eyes,ears and  mouth,telling  the  brain   what  is  going on   outside  the  body..Instructions  from  the  brain   are  sent  to  the  muscle   cells   at  the  right  time  and  to  the right place   regarding  every movement    we  made .
Our    spinal  cord  is  connected   directly   to  our  brain  ,from   the spinal  cord  nerves  radiate   out ,reaching  every  part  of  the  body.Each  nerves  has   thousands   of  individual   nerve  cells  which  carry   electric  signals  to  and  from    the  spinal cord  and   brain.

The   central   nervous   system   is  connected   to  every  part  of  the  body  by  43  pairs  of    nerves.Twelve   pairs  go  to   and   from   the  brain ,  with  31  pairs  going  from  the  spinal  cord.There  are   nearly  45  miles  of  nerves  running  through  our  bodies.
