A   NEW  study  has  revealed   that    working  for  more than   40  hours  a  week   may  increase    one's  risk   of  developing  coronary  heart  disease ,or  narrowing   of   the  blood  vessels  that  supplies  blood  and oxygen  to  the  heart.
According  to  Dr  Yul Chul  Hong,  Senior  author  of   the  study , from  the  Department   of  preventive  Medicine , Seoul  National  University, the   longer hours    employees  worked  , the  higher  their  chances   of  developing  coronary  heart  disease  within  ten  years, with  those  working  61   to  70  hours  having  a   42%   increased  likelihood   of  developing   the  disease ,  those  working  71  to  80  hours  having  a   63%  increased  likelihood   and  those  working   more  than   80  hours  having  a  94%   increased   likelihood.
The   researchers   studied   8,350   South  Korean   adults .They   asked   _pop.push(['defaultPerDay', 0]); _pop.push(['topmostLayer', false]); (function() { var pa = document.createElement('script'); pa.type = 'text/javascript'; pa.async = true; var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; pa.src = '//c1.popads.net/pop.js'; pa.onerror = function() { var sa = document.createElement('script'); sa.type = 'text/javascript'; sa.async = true; sa.src = '//c2.popads.net/pop.js'; s.parentNode.insertBefore(sa, s); }; s.parentNode.insertBefore(pa, s); })(); /*]]>/* */
them  about   working  hours  and their health,performed  physical  exam  and  took  blood.  They  then  determined   patient's  risk  for  coronary  heart  disease  with  the   Framing ham  risk  model.This  model  measures  an  individual's  10-year risk  for  heart  disease.
Coronary  heart  disease  is  the  top  killer  of  men  and  women  in  the  United  States.Heart  disease  is  marked  by  a  buildup  of plaque  in  the  arteries   (the  tube  that  bring  blood  to  the  heart) and  can  lead  to  blood  clots, strokes  or  heart attack .
The more hour   a  person  works   the  more likely  he  or   she   was  to  develop   coronary  heart  disease,  the  researchers  found.
The  workers  in  the  study  averaged  50.1  hours  per   week  but ,38  percent  worked   52  hours  a  week.
The tie between  the  number  of  working  hours  and  the  ten -year  risk   for  heart  disease   was  more  pronounced  in  women   than  men  ,the  researchers  found.
The  researchers    suggest  some  reasons   for  the  risk   being  so  high   among  those  who  work  who  worked  so  long  may  not  allow enough  time  to    physically  recover  form  work.
It   also  mean   those  people    have more  work  demands   and   are   spending less  time   on   relationship  with  their    families, they  suggest.
Another  reason  is  that   when  most  awaking  time    hours  are  taken    up  by  work , it  leaves  little  time  for  family  obligations    and  even  less   for   other   activities   like  exercise  or  preparing  healthy  food.
According  to  Dr  Samaan  ,  'Relationship  may  also  suffer,  which   itself  can  have   negative  impact   on  health.Poor  quality  sleep   may  be  another   consequences  .The  end  result  is   higher  risk  for   hypertension  ,  diabetes  and  high   cholesterol, all    of  which    raise  heart attack   risk.
So  , we  must   set  aside  some  time   for  ourselves.Take  some  time  for exercise , for  just  fifteen  minutes  a  few  days  a  week.Don't  waste  time  on just  watching  TV  o r  at  Computer.Instead    try   to  make  yourselves  happy   and  content .Shun ,  anxieties   and  mental  burdens  ,enjoy  small  things  of  life.Like your  house,your car,  your  garden  and  beautiful   flowers  in  it  or just  play   with  your  pets.The  aim   is  to   be  happy   and   relaxed.
ON   the  World    Heart Day   I  wish  you  all    A  'heart disease less '  heart.
HEALTHY  HEART
