KILLER ROBOT-ALARMING FUTURE

In    first   of   its   own   kind of  incident , A   Robot  grabbed  a  worker  and    crushed  him  to  death, in  a  German   car   factory.
Volkswagen   said    that  a  22-year-old   contractor    at  a plant  in    Baunatal ,near  Frankfurt,  was  setting  up  a  stationary   robot  Monday  when  it  grabbed  him  and  crushed  him   against  a  metal  plate .
The  robot  is    usually  programmed    by  humans   to  performed   discrete    tasks  in  the  assembly   process,  but  this  time  something  went  wrong  A  second   factory  worker   was  in  the  area  when  the  incident  occur     but  was  unharmed.
According  to  VW  spokesman    Heiko   Hill-wig,the  incident  can  probably   be  blamed  on  human  error,  based  on  company's  initial   investigation.
"It  normally   operates   within  a confined  area  at  he  plant ,grabbing  auto parts  and  manipulating  them,"Hillwig  said.
If  true ,that  would  be  reassuring, because  this  sort  of  scenario - a  robot    turning  on its   human  overlords  -  rank  among  the  top  fear  of  some  of  the  world's  smart  people.
According  to the  British  theoretical  physicist   Stephen Hawkins  ,"I   think    the  development  of  full   artificial  intelligence     could  spell  the  end of   the  human  race ," Despite   its  current    usefulness , he  cautioned, further  developing  AI(Artificial   Intelligence)   could  prove  a  fatal  mistake.
"Once  humans  develop   artificial   intelligence  ,it  will  take  off   on  it's  own   and  redesign   it  self   at  an  ever-  increasing   rate ,"Hawkins  warned    for  the  second  time   in  3ecent  months.
"Humans  ,  who  are  limited  by    slow  biological    evolution  , couldn't  compete  and  would  be  superseded."
Success  in  creating   AI  would  be    the  biggest  event    in  human  history.Unfortunately,  it  might  also   be  the  last, unless   we  learn  how  to  avoid  the  risk, says  a   group  of  scientist  .
