What is Bio cremation- It is a standard cremation that reduces the human body to ashes and bone fragments using a heated chamber. "Bio cremation ", also known as "Alkaline hydrolysis", is a final disposition process involving the human body being turned into liquid using an alkali solution.
This process uses 95 % of water and 5% alkali .The body is placed into a stainless cremation chamber , where water , an alkali additive , heat and pressure are added. The body is reduced to bone fragments and a sterile solution , that is recycled to the earth .
The average adult body takes about 2-,3 hours to complete a bio -cremation.
When cremation cycle is completed ,bones are dried and processed to a powdery substance , which is then placed in an urn and given back to family .
Bio cremation is environmentally friendly as it uses less energy and release less carbon - di- oxide into the atmosphere.
It eliminate the need for embalming chemicals and the upheaval of land for a burial plot .Thus it is considered to be an Eco friendly alternative to traditional burial.
Bio cremation is also thought to further reduce the ecological impact cremation by reducing the energy consumption and emissions of the cremation process.
As a new cremation technology , bio cremation is not yet a wide spread practice , but that could change in future as more people embrace environmentally responsible alternatives to traditional practices.
In the near future , bio cremation may indeed become the preferred end of life service for this environmentally conscious generation.
Just a few short years ago in 2011,a Florida funeral home performed the first bio cremation in world .Now , more cremation providers and municipalities around the world considering normalizing the process for a smaller ecological foot print.
