PUN SARI Village is located in Sabarkantha district in the state of Gujarat.The village is located at about 80 km from the state capital Gandhinagar. There are plans that similar model villages can be recreated-at least one in 640 districts of India.
There has been use of new and advanced technology in education .Efforts have been made for empowerment of women and increasing security in the village.The village panchyat has provided many felicities like-local mineral water supply ,sewer and drainage project, a health care center ,banking felicities, and toll free complaint reception service.
The village's model has been appreciated by delegates from Nairobi and they are keen to replicate this in Kenyan villages.
The village has a 66 KV substation that supply power to the village.The village has Wi -Fi connectivity in the entire village ,so that villagers can use unlimited internet once they got the modem from the panchayat office.
There are five primary schools in the village.Air-conditioner and CCTV cameras are installed in the primary school.The school drop out rate is zero in Pun sari.
There are 25, CCTV cameras installed at the prime junctions of the village so that the litterbugs can be spotted and punished.
The village has an excellent water system.The panchayat had installed a reverse osmosis plant in 2010 to insure the supply of clean drinking water to the villagers.Drinking water taps are available for all.The village also has a proper sanitation and drainage system, which is completely underground.
Transportation- Mini buses are used for transport purpose within the village.The panchayat has started a bus facility called Atal Express for women which is used for the import of milk.
