SCIENCE-BLOOD IS RED

BLOOD      IS    RED    ,because     all  its   cells are  packed   called   with  a  red-colored   substance  called       hemoglobin.Using  this,  the   red  blood cells  pickup   vital    oxygen  and  deliver  it  to  the  body's  cells.To   achieve  this  and  the  other   roles,  such  as  removing  waste,  blood is  pumped  along   blood  vessels  by  the  heart.
BLOOD       COMPOSITION -  IF     Blood   is  poured  into  a  glass tube  and   spun  in  a  centrifuge     ,its  main  components  separate    into  three  layers-
PLASMA-   A   watery  liquid   containing  food ,   waste, harmonies  and  many  other  substance.
WHITE   BLOOD  CELLS   AND  PLATELETS
White  blood   cells   fight infection   and   platelets  prevent  bleeding   by  causing  blood  clots.
RED  BLOOD  CELLS.-These    transport  oxygen  from  lungs  to  tissues.

BLOOD     VESSELS -There  are  three  types  of  blood  vessels   namely-
Arteries-it  carry  oxygen  rich  blood  from  the   heart  to  the  tissue    and  have  thick  muscular  walls.











Veins- these   are  thin  walled they  carry    oxygen oxygen    poor    blood  form  the  tissue  to the  heart.

Capillaries -these   are  microscopic  and  one  cell  thick,  they  carry   blood  through   tissues  and  link  arteries  and   veins. 
INTERESTING  FACTS-
  •  On    average   women's  heart  beats  faster  than    men's.
  • A  single  drop  of   blood    contains   250  million   oxygen  carrying    red  blood  cells, 16  million   blood-clotting platelets    ,  and   375,000  infection  -fighting  white  blood  cells.
  • On     an  average  day  our  two  kidneys  process  the  equivalent   of  12 bathtubs  of  blood.Kidney  remove  waste  and  excess  water,  which  are  then   released  from  the body   in  up  to  a  liter  of  urine.
  • The  number  of  red  blood  cells  in  the  blood is  25  trillion.
  • The  amount  of blood   in  an  average  adult  is  5  liters.
  • The  number  of    molecules   of  hemoglobin  inside  a  red  blood  cell   is  250  million .
  • The   heart  beats 2.5  billion   times without  resting   during   a  70  years   period.
