  THE   AIM  OF   Advertising   is  to   influence   people .It  seek  our  attention   both   within   and  outside  our   homes  through  variety   of  mediums ,including  television,radio,  telephone ,newspaper  and  signpost   on  roads.Audience  rating  i.e ,how  many  people   are   watching  a  station   at  what  time ,decides  which  commercials  are  broadcast  at  what  time.Another  types  of  advertising  is  on  line   advertising,for  example  on   web  pages  and  in  spam  mails.
Advertising  in  television-   Television  stations   earn  money  from  the  commercials  they  broadcast  in  a  given  time.Thus  a  lot  of  commercials  means  ,a  lot  of  money.
Advertising  time  is brought   at  higher  price.The  more  popular   the  programme ,the  more  expensive   is  the  commercial  slot .The degree  of  popularity   is  determined  through   the audience  rating.
Audience  Rating-  Audience  rating   helps  a  station   to  know  how  many  people  are  watching   its  programme    and  to  determine  the  price  of  the   commercial   accordingly .Audience  rating   are  determined  by  the  organizations  doing  consumer  research  .Like ' OzTAM'  ,an  Australian   audience  measurement  research  firm    that   collect  and   markets   television   rating  data  to  all   metropolitan   television  in  Sydney,Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth.
Spam  mails  Advertisement- Spam mail    mostly  contain  advertisement     for  money  investment.These  are  mass  mails   that are send  to  people   selected  at  random .If  one  get   such  mail  one  should ,simply  delete   them  because  replying  will   invite   even  more  spam.One  should   also  delete   all   those    mails  that  ask   you  for   your personal  data  even  if  they  comes  from  a   known  source.There   is  always  a  nefarious    sender   camouflaged     behind  these  mails.You  can  protect  yourself   from  spam  mails   by  using  spam  filter..,which  e-mail  provider  offer.
