HUMAN BODY-DIGESTIVE SYSTEM.


WE   NEED   FOOD   TO  KEEP  US  ALIVE-THE  PROCESS  -From  the  moment   the  food   enters   the  mouth   until   it  crosses  into   the  blood stream -is  called   Digestion .Digestion  usually   takes  up   to  18  hours.There   are  about   8  meters    of  tubes   and  chambers  inside  our     body   that  process  the  food   eaten  by  us .Digestive     system  consists  of    certain   organs   which   help  in  chewing ,swallowing ,breakdown  and  absorption  of  food ,as  well  as   expulsion  from  the  body  of  what  is   left   after  these   processes.
In    the  mouth  ,teeth,and   tongue   help  in  breaking   up   the  food  .Then  this  stuff  is  transferred   to  the    stomach   after  we  swallow   it.
In  the  stomach ,  Gastric  juice   that  is  rich  in    hydrochloric  acid   and  protein -splitting  enzyme  pepsin.Then   this  transformed  food reaches   the  Duodenum  through  a   muscular   valve.The   pancreatic   juice   contains   enzymes   for   splitting   carbohydrate,protein  and   fat   in  the  food.Bile  in  the  lever.also  helps  in  this  process .
Now     this    useful    digested    food    passes   through    small  intestine   and  is  taken   by  the   blood   to  the  lever.Lever   receives     some  1.5   liters   of blood   a  minute.Here   occur    the  storage   and   recombination   of  the  digested   food  .The  waste  product  are     pushed  out  of  the  body  through  the  large  intestine  and  the  rectum.

    Eood spends about six hours in the stomach .Food is held in the stomach by a ring of muscles ,called the pylonic sphinctex ,until it is partly digested.The gut is folded over so many times that it is six times as long as you are.The Liver is often called the body's chemical factory.Scientists have counted over 500 liver functions.
