ANIMAL KINGDOM-BONY FISH

BONY  FISH  SUCH AS   CARP,TROUT, SALMON, perch,and   Cod ,   are  by  far   the  best  known  and  largest  group of  fishes  with  more  than  20,000  species(over  90%  of  all  known  fishes ).As  their  name  suggests ,  bony  fishes   have  skeleton  made  of  bones .Another     typical  features  of  bony   include  a swim  bladder ,  which  functions  as   a variable   buoyancy    organ ,  enabling  a  fish  to  remain   effortlessly  at   whatever   depth  it  is  swimming ; relatively  thin,  bone  like  scales ;  a  flap   covering  the  fins .Scientifically   ,   bony  fish    belong  to   the  class Ichthyologist,  which   is  a    division   of  the  super  class    Gnathostomata.(meaning   "jawed mouths).
