TILTING TRAINS.

ALTHOUGH   TILTING  TRAINS  have  been  in  use  since  the 1900s,  it  is  only  recent  technological developments  that  have  been  able   to  prevent   much  of the  passenger   discomfort  caused  by   cornering  at  high  speeds. As   a  train  goes  into  a  curve .It  produces   substantial   centrifugal  force    towards  the  outside  of  the  curve .By  tilting  the  train  (the  equivalent  of  leaning   into  a  curve on a  bicycle )this  centrifugal   force is   balance  by  a  force  into  the  inner curve  and  passenger  discomfort   reduced.
Current  computer    controlled   active   tilting   systems  operate  from    self   steering   boogies  (the  wheeled   undercarriage  of  the  train)improvement  in  bogie   design   enhance   the  operation  of  the  train   by  reducing   track  forces ,and  radial  self steering  bogies  with " soft" suspension  have  been  introduced .Modern  tilting  trains  allow    operators     to  achieve   higher  speed   on  existing  curved    routes   without   costly  track  improvements  or   the  need  to   consider  completely   new  high  speed lines.
BULLET TRAIN
The  train  can  carry  1,524  passengers  and  featured   64  separate  traction  motors  ,each  producing  285 kw  of   power. The  body  shells  are  made  of  aluminum   alloy.
The  latest  prototype   Bullet Train  has  reached   speeds  of  345 km/h(214  mph),but    the   french TGV  holds  the  world  rail speed  record  of  515 km/h(320 mph).
