GREAT SCIENTISTS OF WORLD-ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL

 

Alexander Graham Bell, best known for his invention of the telephone, revolutionized communication as we know it. His interest in sound technology was deep-rooted and personal, as both his wife and mother were deaf.

 

 

 He came to the U.S as a teacher of the deaf, and conceived the idea of "electronic speech machine" -- his name for the first telephone.

  while visiting his hearing-impaired mother in Canada. This led him to invent the microphone and later the "electrical speech machine" -- his name for the first telephone.

  Graham Bell was a Scottish-born scientist and inventor best known for inventing the first working telephone in 1876 and founding the Bell Telephone Company in 1877. Bell's success came through his experiments in sound and the furthering of his family's interest in assisting the deaf with communication.

 In 1892, Alexander Graham Bell made an attempt to make the first long-distance telephone call and his sound reached from New York to Chicago. So the telephone network rapidly expanded soon after it emerged. It initially spread to America and later to the whole world within a period of ten years.

 The invention of the telephone provided an important device for facilitating human communication. ... The telephone early on was also be used as a broadcasting medium like the radio, but also allowed for the audience to respond to the commentator, which made it a two-way broadcasting medium.

 The use of hello as a telephone greeting has been credited to Thomas Edison; according to one source, he expressed his surprise with a misheard Hullo. Alexander Graham Bell initially used Ahoy (as used on ships) as a telephone greeting. 

 Alexander Graham Bell is a hero because he invented the telephone and the first hearing aids.

 Mabel Gardiner Hubbard,was  the wife of Alexander Graham Bell.

Bell died on August 2, 1922, at the age of 75 in Nova Scotia, Canada. The cause of his death was complications from diabetes.
